Casa Híbrido was conceived and founded by Nívea Freitas in January 2019 to create new professional avenues for herself, serving as a space for artistic creation, project experimentation, and collaboration. At the house, artists and small creative entrepreneurs developed their projects—whether medium-term, through space rentals, or short-term, by offering courses, rehearsals, workshops, fairs, mini-concerts, and more. The space operated dynamically for 7 years, adapting to challenging periods such as the pandemic, as well as internal adjustments to its operations and management.

Following her one-year doctoral research stay in Vienna, Austria, in 2025, Nívea returned with fresh project ideas related to her PhD work. She decided to hand over management to AGENTZ and ATRAVÉS, two cultural production companies that had already been part of Casa Híbrido for several years. Both companies specialize in cultural design, management, and production, and Nívea plans to collaborate with them on potential projects as she focuses on this new phase.

Casa Híbrido was a place of immense learning, achievement, opportunity, creativity, and joy. This chapter comes to a close with great pride and satisfaction—knowing that rather than simply closing its doors, its legacy has been passed forward, leaving behind meaningful partnerships and contributions.
